Y5 Castle Theatre performance
Description
Re: Castle Theatre Performance
Dear Parents and Carers,
We are excited to confirm details for our performance at the Castle Theatre. As announced previously, we have been invited to join Weavers Academy and 3 other primary schools in an exciting performance of The Tales of Odysseus at the Castle Theatre on Wednesday 24th June.
Day and Date: Wednesday 24th June
The performance will be the culmination of a musical collaboration between Year 5 students across 4 primary school and performers from Weavers Secondary School. Alongside the actual performances, the children will get to learn a variety of different songs and take part in a Musical workshop provided by Weavers. The songs will also form the basis of our music lessons in school.
On the actual day, children will be transported to the Castle Theatre by Weavers school and take part in a further musical workshop and a complete dress rehearsal before finishing with a performance to parents at the Castle Theatre at 6pm. Any child taking part will need collecting from the theatre after the performance has finished.
We are very lucky that the event is being provided by Weavers and the Castle Theatre at no cost to any child taking part. There will be a small ticket price for any parent who wishes to attend the final performance at the Castle Theatre and as soon as these are available to purchase, we will send details. We would love for as many of our Year 5 pupils as possible to take part but understand that as it is after the end of the school day there may be some who are unable to make it. As we will need to confirm numbers with Weavers and the Castle Theatre, we would be grateful if you could be please complete the attached form, confirming whether your child is able to take part in this exciting event. The children will need to wear School Uniform for the performance.
Photos
Photos will be taken throughout the event — primarily by Weavers for publication and social media, and also by the audience during the evening performance.
If you are unable to consent to your child’s photographs being used but would still like them to take part, we will do our best to seat them at the edge of the stage during the performance. However, because this is a public venue, we cannot guarantee that they will not appear in any photographs.
Lunch arrangements
Children will leave school after lunchtime and therefore will be able to have a normal lunch in school. Due to the fact that we are not due to finish until approximately 7pm, the children will need an additional lunch to eat between the completion of the final dress rehearsal and performance at 6pm.
Should you have any queries regarding this event, please feel free to contact us.
Yours sincerely,
Year 5 Team
