Lavender class trip
Description
Dear parents of children in Lavender class,
As you know we are fast approaching the Summer term and the Year 2 trip to the seaside in Hunstanton.
We have completed an intensive risk assessment and feel that this trip would not be in the best interests of Lavender children. We feel the long journey, longer school day and wide open space is not one which we could safely offer whilst ensuring Lavender children have appropriate ratios and sufficient safety measures.
Our main priority is always children’s safety and their enjoyment of school trips. With this in mind, we are now planning a shorter, local trip for Lavender class only to a forest school setting linked to Everdon Outdoor Learning Centre.
This means we will have a designated ranger and exclusive access to the secure, enclosed site for the 8 Lavender children and their adults only. As a class of 8 the children can decide which of the activities they would like to take part in before the trip and the whole day will be bespoke and designed around them. The trip will take place on Friday 20th June 2025.
Permissions
Permission is required for this trip. Please use ParentMail to give permission for your child to attend.
The trip has been thoroughly planned and carefully risk assessed by the trip leader, our Educational Visits Coordinator and Miss Lally. A copy of the risk assessment is available upon request.
Contributions
The cost of the trip is £10 and is being subsidised by the school; this will include transport and the full day of activities. The trip will take place within the usual school day hours.
Please pay £10 via our ParentMail online system here or log in to your ParentMail mobile app. Payment will need to be completed by Friday 6th June. Contribution that have already been made for the Year 2 seaside trip will be refunded.
Lunch Arrangements
Children will need a packed lunch for this trip. Kingswood packed lunches (https://www.kingswoodcatering.co.uk/login) can be provided for free for all children but these must be requested online by Wednesday 11th June.
If children bring their own packed lunch, it should be in a clearly named disposable carrier bag. It should be nut free and contain no fizzy drinks or sweets.
Yours sincerely,
Mrs Carla Murphy
